I used to work with the creator of today’s Meditation!
Federico Fasce used to work on virtual reality in the multimedia department at the Guardian, where I present the digital culture podcast Chips With Everything. I’m usually only around once a week, so we never really stopped to talk, but it was always nice to see a familiar face.
Fede’s Meditation is a fox walking through a snowy city, animated by Malbers Animations. The first time I played I just kept walking, enjoying the sound of footsteps on snow (I don’t like real snow, because I don’t like the cold, but I love this sound). After a while, the fox lay down and the game faded away.
And then I loaded the Meditation again, walked for a while, and tabbed out to write something, when suddenly I heard the sound of a train. Turns out, if the fox stops walking the view will change to show you some movement in the city. What a wonderful surprise! I wonder how many people will miss it entirely, like I did the first time?
