February 9 Meditation (Isaac Schankler)

I have just come home from hosting a multi-day games festival in Bradford, and tomorrow is my birthday. This feels like the right moment to gaze at a screen of scrambled pixels while Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata plays.

Isaac Schankler tweets that this game is about disassociation. Isaac Schankler’s Twitter is also the only place I could find a screenshot of today’s Meditation, because (after I had to boot up my PC because it wouldn’t load on my Macbook) taking my own didn’t work. The Meditation also seized control of my mouse and wouldn’t let me Alt+F4. I had to close it via the Task Manager. (I have since learned, also from Isaac’s Twitter that the Meditation should close itself after five minutes.)

Anyway, disassociation. If you Google it, the first results are for disassociative disorders. Or maybe that’s Google trying to personalise its search to me! I sure am good at “switching off from reality”.
