I spent today accompanying someone to the hospital (they’re fine!), but I did manage to find time to play today’s Meditation.
This short black-and-white line-drawing game is about Katherine Stull’s experience visiting GDC for the first time, thanks to a free ticket. It’s a lovely little game, allowing the player to cycle through her experiences and emotions by holding down the right arrow key (or rewind them with the left arrow, with an occasional sequence that lets you use left and right to try to protect Katherine from her incoming anxieties), but also serves as a reminder that GDC is an anxiety-inducing experience for many people and many reasons, not least because of the expense. Those who do get to go to GDC often end up having a great time, but the location prohibits many others. I’m glad this Meditation has gone live while this year’s GDC is taking place.
