I thought the “NotExplosive” message I got at the end of today’s Meditation was a comment on my performance until I realised it was the name of the creator.
A circle sits atop a pedestal. Spacebar makes the circle jump, and allows a smaller circle to pass beneath it and continue above and around it in a circular path that gets bigger with each pass. When this path reaches a particular size, the game ends. If the small circle hits your circle, the game resets.
It did take me three attempts to finish this game, but I put that down to trying to take screenshots (incidentally, every screenshot I took came out looking exactly the same, so it may be that NotExplosive programmed that in somehow!). I found timing my jumps relatively easy, and ended up letting my eyes go unfocused. I did wonder, as I was playing, whether my jumps really were getting closer together, or if that was a trick of the imagination, because the smaller circle was moving faster but its path was getting longer, so the two may have cancelled each other out.
I also wonder if this is the first Meditation that is a remake of a game the creator has already made, and whether it’s silly of me to feel like that breaks some unspoken rule.
