June 4 Meditation (Jose Pacio)

Last night, at the first class of a six-week introduction to sewing course I’m taking, I met someone who is just about to finish a PhD in mathematics. “Wow,” I said, “Everyone I know who is doing a PhD seems totally wrecked.”

Today’s Meditation is a preemptive celebration of the creator’s imminent graduation from college (US). This simple 2D platformer – in which you run from left to right, trying to avoid obstacles, until you catch up with your graduation cap and the world becomes 3D with all the possibilities graduation supposedly entails – seems to have two messages: 1) don’t get ahead of yourself, and 2) you will, inevitably, sometimes fall.
